At The Heights, all pupils are provided with a free breakfast, fruit at break and a healthy lunchtime meal. We view these times as valuable for social interaction and relationship building.
Our food meets the school food standards so that children have healthy, balanced diets whilst at The Heights.
We provide:
- high-quality meat, poultry or oily fish
- fruit and vegetables
- bread, other cereals and potatoes
We don’t offer:
- drinks with added sugar, crisps, chocolate or sweets in school meals and vending machines
- more than 2 portions of deep-fried, battered or breaded food a week
You can read more about school food standards on the School Food Plan website.
We have recently introduced theme days which have been very popular with young people and staff alike! The school canteen also has a food hygiene rating of ‘5 – very good’.
